About This Game About YORG.ioYORG.io is a fun game about supply chains and zombies. Your goal is to survive as long as possible and endure as many enemy waves as you can.How to Play YORG.ioThe game is divided into day and night. During the day you will be safe, so use this time wisely to prepare and fortify your base.Start by building your base and placing crystal mines which are your main source of income. If your mines are not connected to your base, place a transporter. To defend your base and survive the night, you will need defensive towers; since those require ammunition, you will have to build factories to produce them; these factories require resources, you will have to build mines to extract them. Did we mention the importance of supply lines?At night, zombies will spawn and attack your buildings. Every day the zombies steadily get stronger, and every 10 waves a zombie boss will spawn. The game is lost when your Base is destroyed.Highly ReplayableEach game starts with a new configuration of available resources. This configuration must be carefully considered when placing your base and will change your strategy from game to game.Unique towersEach tower has strengths and weaknesses. Place them carefully to make sure you are using them to their full potential and always make sure they have plenty of ammo.Enemy AbilitiesAs the day turn into night the waves of Zombies become harder. Zombies will evolve various abilities that will challenge even the most titanic defenses.Big BossThe Dread Overlord shows up every 10 waves. This boss will require all your might to defeat it. Um. Frustrating and fun. I tend to rage quit quite often with this game. However, it's a good title for 15 minutes.. A hugely enjoyable Tower Defense. Graphics and music are more than adequate.I have played a number of titles of a similar premise - what sets this one apart is the speed of the action. You have a pause button to set up, but then the zombies are quickly at your door. If your setup is substandard, it does not take long to find out and start again (at least in the early stages).Definitely a keeper.. Pros:- Adds a fun logistics twist and skill tree to traditional tower defense.- Ever-stronger waves force you to make risky expansions to keep up with your supplies.- No micromanagement, just strategy.- Played perfectly on Linux with Steam Play.- Excellent game for the price.Cons:- Clearly a web game. Performance gets worse as your base grows, and the attack waves feel more and more like a slide show. There are options to disable effects and reduce lag, but the game is so minimalistic already that I didn't want even less to look at. - The enemies get stronger and have new abilities, but there is no way for you to examine them, eg see their stats, abilities, name, etc.- For a logistics-focused game, there are some severe shortcomings in the UI. For example, no way to tell how overloaded (or not) your transporters are. No way to tell which factory is supplying ammo for your weapons. Etc. You end up guessing at which upgrades are needed.- Resource pathing is sometimes suboptimal, and you have no control over it. For example, I built parallel supply lines connecting two main areas of my base, but only one was ever used regardless of how choked the other path was.Overall I recommend it for the unique blend of game elements, but the logistics flaws were a stumbling block and in the end I got tired of the performance issues. That said, I really enjoyed the core mechanics, so I probably will come back to this one occasionally.. This game is literally my life.
